Heyo! My name is Egbert, I was born in Mexico in the city of Puebla. My family came to the US in 2008 and have been staying in Modesto, CA ever since. This means that I'm a first generation student, like many of you reading, and thus am glad to help all of you reading this with any questions you may have about navigating the pre-med path! The main reason as to why I joined CHE is the sense of community within the club. While at UCB, this feeling can often get lost and lead students to feel isolated, especially those who are new to this system. CHE allows these types of students to find a place where they can share their experiences and work with others in order to achieve their goals!

My main responsibilities as senior advisor are to help existing and new members find a sense of community, extend professional opportunities to them, help them navigate UCB academically, and ultimately to help us any possible way that will allow you to succeed!

Hii! My name is Lily Sanchez, a first-gen Mexican-American second year student here at Cal. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. My dream is to become a physician assistant (PA) in order to give back to my community and help fight against health disparities. Some of my hobbies include listening to music, hanging out with friends, being out in nature, & just doing any type of self-care. I joined CHE for the community! I love the sense of comunidad it brings to Latinx students at Berkeley, especially those who are on the pre-health track! CHE has provided me with the opportunity to meet many amazing like-minded individuals who are on similar career paths as me and it has also helped me learn more about the road to medicine, something I truly appreciate and am really grateful for. <3

Some of the main responsibilities that I share with my Co, include building community among members through our familia system and planning and hosting studying hours to keep strengthening our academics. As senior advisors, we also share many resources through our live doc! As a whole, we (like every other board member) are essentially here to support our CHE community in any way that we can!
